Cuban cocktail bar El Floridita wanted to celebrate its 200th birthday with something a little different, so challenged Havana Club with making a white rum complex enough for the bar's famous Daiquiris. So, the folks at Havana Club took three different rum bases aged for four years, and an aged aguardiente (a sugar cane liqueur), all of which were then married in a very large, very old barrel. The blend then went through a rapid filtration process, finally bottled at 40% ABV. Behold Havana Club Professional Edition A, all of the complexity of an aged rum, but without the colour. Rich sugar cane notes alongside cinnamon, coconut shavings, a herbal undertone, liquorice and a dry oak finish.
